It is indeed encouraging to see our capital market continues to play a major role in the financing of the Malaysian economy, while at the same time offering a wide range of opportunities for investors as reflected by a high level of participation from both domestic and international investors alike.

We must continue to work together to ensure a facilitative ecosystem and regulatory architecture remain conducive to strengthen trust and confidence in the Malaysian financial market.

The Government believes that these new measures will encourage greater participation and provide growth opportunities for the stockbroking industry with the long-term promise of creating an environment that promotes and positions Malaysia as an investment destination within ASEAN.

Let me take this opportunity to encourage you to quickly embrace digitization and not see it as a disruptor. Many players across various industries have seen themselves fall behind mainly because they failed to innovate and embrace new technologies.

I urge and encourage everyone here to find new ways to leverage on the digital space, to develop exciting and engaging initiatives aimed at growing Malaysia’s capital markets.
