The business sector plays a vital role in providing job opportunities and nurturing the creation of an entrepreneurial culture within our country. These businesses, especially the SMEs, form an integral part of the value chain in the overall production network. Many of the successful international businesses that we observe today started out as SMEs, bearing testament to the fact that today’s SMEs are tomorrow’s business leaders and innovators.

imSME is aimed to ease the expansion of micro, small and medium enterprises, or what I will refer today as MSMEs (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises). Via Malaysia’s first online referral platform for MSME financing, they can now explore various financing options offered by the banks and pick financial products that suit them best – all in one single platform.

The significance of SMEs to the Malaysian economy goes beyond of just being the engine of growth. There are growing interest among SMEs to tap on the benefits of digitization by using the social media, Internet marketing and e-commerce as the platform to reduce cost and to market quality products and services in untapped markets all over the world.
